PAID FAMILY LEAVE (New Coverage)

Dear Valued Customer:
 
Starting January 1, 2018, the New York State Paid Family Leave Program will provide New Yorkers job-protected, paid leave to bond with a new child, care for a loved one with a serious health condition or to help relieve family pressures when someone is called to active military service.
​The benefits include: Paid time off for 8 weeks in 2018 (50% of weekly wage or maximum of $652.96/week); Job protection upon return from Paid Family Leave; Continuation of health insurance while out on Paid Family Leave.
 
Insurance coverage for Paid Family Leave benefits will be automatically added to an employer’s existing disability benefits policy, with a premium rate of 0.126% of the Annual Payroll and no action from your part is required at the moment. Employers are required to cover all eligible employees, but the benefit is 100% employee funded through payroll deductions. We ask you to refer to the sample chart at the end of this notice in order to calculate your premium correctly.
 
 
2018년 1월 1일 부터 뉴욕주의 ‘Paid Family Leave’라는 새로운 법안이 통과가 되어 시행됨을 안내 해드립니다. PFL을 간단히 설명해드리면 자녀의 출산과 가족의 간병, 가족의 병역의 의무를 주된 대상으로 주20시간 이상근무하고 26주 이상 근속한 직원이 휴직 수당을 보험회사로 청구 할 수 있는 보험입니다.

자녀의 출산의 경우는 첫돌이 되기 전에 남편과 본인이 다른 기간을 선택하여 8주를 휴직할 수 있습니다. 가족의 간병의 경우 가족의 범위를 조부모와 손자까지 포함 가능합니다. 또한 가족이 병역의 의무를 하게 되었을 때 유급휴가를 받은 직원이 휴직수당을 청구할 수 있습니다. 휴직수당으로 받는 금액은 직원의 직전 8주간 평균 주급의 50% 혹은 최대 $652.96 중 낮은 금액으로 8주간 지급합니다.
 
PFL을 따로 가입하시는 것이 아닌 현재 가지고 계신 DBL에 추가가 되며, 직원에게 지급하고 계시는 Annual payroll 0.126%가 측정되어DBL 보험료에 추가되어 납부하시게 됩니다. 정확한 보혐료 계산은 끝에 있는 샘플 차트를 참조하시기 바랍니다. 다른 질문사항이나 궁금하신 점이 있으시면 저희 코너스톤으로 연락주시기 바랍니다.
 
 
A partir de Enero 1, 2018 El Programa de Permiso Familiar Pagado será la compensación por discapacidad para las personas que toman tiempo libre para cuidar a un(a) hijo(a), esposo(a), padre/madre o pareja doméstica que se encuentre gravemente enferma, o para establecer lazos afectivos con un(a) hijo(a) nuevo(a), o un(a) hijo(a) en conexión con una adopción, o una colocación bajo el cuidado de crianza temporal.
 
Los beneficios incluidos: Tiempo libre pago por máximo 8 semanas (50% del salario semanal o un máximo de $652.96 por semana); Protección laboral al volver de permiso; Continuación del seguro de salud mientras esta por fuera.
 
Esta cobertura será agregada automáticamente a la póliza de Beneficios por Discapacidad con una tasa del 0.126% del salario anual y por el momento no requiere acción necesaria de su parte. PFL será mandatorio tener pero que de igual forma será financiado a través de las deducciones de nómina. Le pedimos que se refiera a la gráfica que esta al final de la carta para así llegar a una calculación adecuada del nuevo costo de su póliza.
